5 Typical Mood Phases to change exist.  Below is a Graph showing the Mood Barometer change with time.

The phases are:

  1. Shock, a person initially learned that Change is coming
  2. Denial, a person is in a comfort zone, fearing the unknown posed by the coming Change
  3. Depression, feeling depressed and negative about the change, realizing that without Change, the road will lead to a sudden end.
  4. Insight, Change starting to take place within a person willing to try, seeing the chance of success
  5. Learning, person is in a positive mind state, learning to adapt, accepting Change and encouraging others

The 1st three stages of the curve show a negative gradient, also representing a negative attitude towards Change.  Once the lowest point was reached the curve gradient changes to be positive, also reflecting the positive attitude towards Change.  Very often, those opposing and totally resisting change will continue to be negative towards Change; their curve will continue pointing downwards; towards resignation from emotional to physical to finally contractual states.  Conditions, processes technology or equipment might have changed, meaning we need to adapt, Change and learn new things.  It might also well be that we were taught incorrectly and need to un-learn incorrect behaviors and believes. Un-learning requires special attention and different learning techniques.
