OUR CONSULTANTS
OUR POLICY

Our consultant would act as facilitator/moderator, would use to find new solutions, ideas or concepts.  We would use the brown paper board and card system.   The facilitator/participants can write the new ideas on the cards, or the participants can write it on the cards.  After the brainstorm, these ideas can then be grouped and prioritized.  For this the facilitator could use a Value and Function analysis.  During the brainstorming session facilitator would attempt to track the rate of new ideas/min, to show a trend.  Prior to the brainstorming session, the facilitator would explain the rules and procedures clearly.

Some of the rules are:

·         Everyone gets a chance to finish his or her idea, i.e. don’t interrupt each other

·         Everybody’s opinion & idea counts, regardless of position in the work environment.  Quantity is here more important that quality.

·         The moderator takes minutes using a white board or a flip chart.  He explain and encourages: Teamwork, i.e. role definition & development

Criticism impedes creativity!

The left and right-hand sides of our brain work in different ways.  When we use the right-hand hemisphere, we work spontaneously, creatively, pictorially and fast. With our left-hand hemisphere, however, we work logically and much more slowly and are more able to deal with numbers and letters.

When we criticize someone, we leave the creative side alone and change to the slower side.  In order to logically refute the criticism, the others also have to change the way they work.  This hinders the creative process.
