Brain
writing or the "35th method" is the name of a structured variant of
brainstorming.
How we would proceed:
- Each of the six
participants (divide larger groups into smaller ones) gets a sheet of
paper divided into 18 boxes.
- Each participant
writes three ideas into the top 3 boxes.
- After five minutes
the sheet is passed clockwise to the next person.
- The next person has
to add three more ideas triggered by the preceding ideas into the boxes
below them.
- The suggestions of
the others can be further developed and altered; but completely new
ideas can also be written down.
- This process is
repeated until the sheet is full.
Brain
writing is a quiet method. The participants should not talk to each
other.
Advantage: As a result you get 108 ideas in only 30 minutes!
