QFD is a process to determine customer requirements and specifications when developing a new product or process.  We use this unique process to look at existing product or processes, evaluate and investigate them, determine their unique functions and finally incorporate the improvements in a new design or development.  QFD is a type of Function and Value Analysis integrating current status and future development of a product or process.  It is a communication method to investigate current quality standards and establish future quality improvements with a new design.  The communication forum includes internal and external participation:

·         the client,

·         the manufacturer,

·         the opposition specialist,

·         the material supplier,

·         the end user,

·         manufacturing, technical and engineering staff

·         financial, IT and assembly specialists

The communication is led around the client and the product, then about the product and the parts, about the parts and the manufacturing process, the manufacturing process and the works instructions.

The House Of Quality is built in 10 basic steps:

1.      The Customer's Voice - Establish Specification

2.      Specification Evaluation

3.      Define Guarantees, Sales Pitches and Complaints

4.      Specification Prioritization - Critical Customer Requirement

5.      Define the Material, Man, Machine and Method Specifications

6.      Competitor Product Analysis - Current & Future State (4M-Method)

7.      Establish Test Methods - Current & Future State

8.      Probability Analysis - To reach future goals

9.      Determine Critical Manufacturing Specifications

10.  Correlate Various Manufacturing Specifications (Completing the Roof)

Project Management Templates, Documents, Forms and Processes.
